But the increase in tourists in the resorts did not occur only in Bariloche. At Cerro Castor ski center of Tierra del Fuego, the southernmost in the world, this week there were 10% more tourists than last year. The snowfall in recent days, coupled with infrastructure almost new and the greatest number of flights arriving from Brazil, plus the incomparable sensation of skiing at the end of the world are some of the reasons they find tour operators to explain this notable increase in visitors.
Also in Chapelco, the most important ski resort of Neuquen, the numbers this year already exceed last season. On the slopes of the imposing mountain skiers glide about 4700 per day, representing an increase of 5% over the first week of winter break 2007. Also in the province of Neuquen, the International Ski Caviahue sold more than 60 percent of passes available. Of total arrivals to the complex, composed of 18 tracks with three difficulty levels, 20 percent were tourists from Chile, Brazil and France.
Since last weekend skiers from Brazil are coming to the Winter Sports Centre La Hoya, in Chubut. Where they enjoy the sport and good weather conditions that accompany this season. Currently, the winter resort has 24 tracks and 10 enabled lifts.
