In a note published by the newspaper La Nacion and according to the Ministry of Tourism of the Nation (Public), based on information provided by the Cámara Argentina de Ski Centres, during the first week of vacation destinations registered in winter a greater amount of tourists during the same period last year, considered by many one of the best in recent times.
Prior to the onset of winter, the prospects were not good, as a consequence of volcanic ash floating in the atmosphere, for this reason airports closed, flights canceled or delayed, less reserves than last year, not much snow … But, again, the figures were in charge of breaking down the ghosts, at least in the ski resorts.
A sample of “bom snow” yesterday gave Bariloche, where he broke the record for ascents of Cerro Catedral. There, when it struck 14.30, there were 13,023 people in the mountains, prompting celebrations by ski resort operators and tourists who were enjoying the sun and a great day to glide across the snow, which reaches almost a meter pool. The previous record was registered last year, with nearly 12,000 skiers at the same time on the mountain. The Brazilian, who this year returned to arrive en masse, are partly responsible for this new record. But so are the Argentines, who are increasingly being encouraged to put on their skis or snowboards.
